Fun with Emphysema Rave Card. The photo on this rave card is of my mother. Her name is Connie Lindborg - born in Montana, and passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2002 at 5:20 p.m. She had emphysema for 6 years. This photo was taken at her request while she was at the University of Washington for experimental "Lung Volume Reduction" surgery. This operation greatly improved her breathing and quality of life during her final years.

My mother was a fierce tobacco prevention advocate. She knew my work in tobacco prevention (15 years) and knew about the rave cards I created. She asked me to make a card of her so others could see what goes on behind the scenes of emphysema.

Sorry the image is difficult to look at. As you can image, it is very difficult for me. However - this rave card and its' image was one of my mothers final wishes.
